Artist Bio

Barbara Cushing is a realist artist living in New York. From 1972 through 1986 she pursued a career as a landscape artist, painting in Maine where she was a Professor of Art, as well at other locations in New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Alaska. Her landscapes are in private and corporate collections, and was represented by the Robert Schoelkopf Gallery in New York from 1982 - 1988. She was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1985 and the MacDowell Fellowship in 1977 and 1981. There are 36 of her paintings and drawings at the Fogg Art Museum, permanent collection at the Agnes Mongan Center for the Study of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, at Harvard University.
